We came to know today that the Star Wars Celebration Orlando will host an impressive lineup for the “40 Years of Star Wars” panel which would honor the completion of 4 decades of the franchise.
This lineup includes stellar names such as Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Billy Dee Williams, Ian McDiarmaid, Kathleen Kennedy – President of Lucasfilm and the producer of Clone Wars/Rebels Dave Filoni. Apart from these, a very talented son set to return to the celebration after a really long gap: Hayden Christensen.
Now the timing of Hayden’s come back makes us wonder whether it is just his return to the Star Wars Celebration Orlando because of the special occasion or is has he become associated with some upcoming project with Lucasfilm? Is it possible that there is Star Wars Darth Vader solo film under production?
Despite his prolonged absence, Vader has always been a center of attraction and a lot of talk throughout the new Disney/Lucasfilm canon. The Star Wars Rebels animation series showed his presence during the formative period of the Rebellion as well as in the Rogue One solo film.
There was also a Marvel Comics series which dwelt upon his defeat by Luke Skywalker in A New Hope and also another series as Vader after Revenge of the Sith has been released this summer. Now that the Star Wars makers are eagerly working on the premise of seeing more legendary Vader imprints in the future movies, we don’t find it out of context to expect a solo film based on the iconic villain under works.
The time is definitely right now with the geek movies featuring adult tones and ratings achieving great success at box-office. Rogue One had a terrible ending and yet there is some division among fans about whether Star Wars should get an R-Rated Darth Vader film or not.
Some fans say that they don’t wish for the Star Wars franchise to become that dark, but, it is definitely a lucrative thought. We have no idea as to how such a film’s story will shape up, but, we do have a few of our concepts:
One thing is certain that a full on Vader film would need Christensen on board. He is still related to Anakin/Vader in the animation, thus, the logic of continuity demands that if there has to be a face behind that Vader helmet then it has to be the face of Christensen.
Not only that, a large number of fans want to see him take another shot at Star Wars glory. Nothing can achieve that objective than seeing Darth Vader setting the screen on fire in a solo movie.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi will release on December 15.
