The last time we got notification from Joe Manganiello, he didn’t know whether he was going to star in The Batman as Deathstroke. From that point forward, plans have turned out to be all the more clear. Presently, Manganiello is aware what his future as Deathstroke resembles, yet he can’t discuss it.
This is what Manganiello stated in another interview with The Hollywood Reporter:
“Question: I think a lot of people are wondering what the status of Deathstroke is in the next Batman movie now that Ben Affleck is off the project as director. Do you have any information about that?
Joe: I don’t. Well, I do but nothing that I can share. I know everything but I can’t say any of it.
Q: Was that imparted in a happy way or a downtrodden way? I’m trying to interpret the fluctuations in your tone.
Joe: [Pause.] I’m shooting for a neutral tone.
Q: You’re succeeding.
Q: Any idea when we’ll find out?
Joe: It’s not up to me. That’s a good question for Warner Bros. and D.C.”
It’s difficult to judge Manganiello’s tone by means of content, and even the questioner addressing him didn’t know whether he was glad or annoyed with what he was stating.
Furthermore, with Matt Reeves affirming that he’s not utilizing Ben Affleck’s script and is starting once again, I think until further notice it’s best to expect that Deathstroke is not a part of the film. Be that as it may, with the amount of preparation that Manganiello has put into the role, let’s keep our fingers crossed that there’s still room for his Deathstroke some place in the DC Extended Universe.
