Hi there! Please note that there are spoilers for Game of Thrones season 7, episode 6, “Beyond the Wall” in this article.
Well, as we all know, Arya Stark is on very poor terms with Sansa, her sister in Game of Thrones’ latest episode. Sansa tries to retrieve a note from Arya’s room but and instead discovers a bag full of flattened faces. She wants the note as Arya might take the note back to the Northern lords. It almost seems like Arya is currently building her own House of Black and White.
Out of the bag, Sansa pulls out a bearded man’s face and another face which is Walder Fre. He is the man who Arya murdered in season 6.
Fans are pondering about the first face though. Whose is it? And there are several possibilities. I may even belong to Ser Meryn Trant.
But one can also note that the face is uninjured, and so it may not even be Trant. No one is sure of the magic that goes into preserving these faces. So, a face that is damaged by fatal injuries could be restored to a healthier looking form.
The face may belong to Walder Frey’s sons; Lothar Frey and Black Walder. Both men had beards and because Arya killed them, she may have their faces.
There is a chance that the face could be any of the other Freys that Arya massacred at the in season 7. The unknown face looks peaceful and bears a resemblance to Samwell Tarly.
If the face does not belong to anyone that Arya has killed, then there is a chance that she stole it from the House of Black and White.
Or, it may of a kill that happened off-camera during the journey from Braavos to Westeros.
